Hadith 31:386
Yunus narrated to us, Hammad—meaning Ibn Zayd—narrated to us, he said: Bishr narrated to us, he said: I heard Abu Sa’id al-Khudri saying: A dabb (lizard) was brought to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said: "Turn it onto its back." So it was turned onto its back. Then he said: "Turn it onto its belly." So it was turned onto its belly. He then said: "A tribe from among the Children of Israel, upon whom Allah was angry, was transformed. If it is [one of them], then it is this; if it is [one of them], then it is this; if it is [one of them], then it is this."
