Musnad Ahmad 31:389

Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, 'Amr informed me, from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri, from his father, that he complained to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about his need. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Be patient, Abu Sa'id, for poverty comes to those among you who love me faster than a flood from the top of a valley, and from the top of a mountain to its bottom."
