Hadith 31:483
Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Atash narrated to us, Ja'far—meaning ibn Sulayman—narrated to us, from Ali ibn Ali al-Yashkuri, from Abu al-Mutawakkil al-Naji, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stand at night and begin his prayer, he would say the takbir and say: "Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise; blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no god other than You." Then he would say: "There is no god but Allah" three times. Then he would say: "I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed Satan, from his madness (hamz), and his puffing (nafkh)." Then he would say: "Allah is the Greatest" three times. Then he would say: "I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed Satan, from his madness (hamz), his puffing (nafkh), and his spitting (nafth)."
