Musnad Ahmad 31:50

Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from ‘Iyad ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Sa‘d ibn Abi Sarh, that he heard Abu Sa‘id say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said while he was on the pulpit: "Indeed, the thing I fear most for you is what Allah brings forth for you from the vegetation of the earth and the flower of the world." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, does good bring about evil?" He remained silent until we thought that revelation was descending upon him. It was said: He was overcome by heavy breathing and sweat. Then he said: "Where is the questioner?" The man said: "Here I am, and I intended nothing but good." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, good does not bring anything but good. Indeed, good does not bring anything but good. Indeed, good does not bring anything but good. However, the world is green and sweet, and everything that the spring brings forth kills by overeating (habtan) or comes close to it, except for the animal that eats the green vegetation; for it eats until its flanks are extended, then it faces the sun, defecates, and urinates, then returns and eats. Whoever acquires it (wealth) by its right, it will be blessed for him, and whoever acquires it without its right, it will not be blessed for him, and he will be like one who eats but is never satisfied." ‘Abdullah said: My father said: Sufyan said: Al-A‘mash used to ask me about this hadith.
