Musnad Ahmad 31:501

Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, al-A’mash narrated to us, from ‘Atiyyah al-‘Awfi, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The wealthy are ruined." They said: "Except for whom?" He said: "The wealthy are ruined." They said: "Except for whom?" He said: "The wealthy are ruined." He said: Until we feared that it had become inevitable. He said: "Except for the one who says like this, and like this, and like this—and they are few."
