Hadith 31:561
Hajjaj narrated to us, Laith narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Abdullah narrated to me, from Iyad ibn Abdullah ibn Sa’d, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, that he said: A man suffered a loss during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in fruits he had purchased, and his debt became great. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Give charity to him." He said: So the people gave charity to him, but that did not reach the amount to pay off his debt. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Take what you have found, and you have nothing but that."
