Yahya ibn Zakariya ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, Dawud ibn Abi Hind narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id, who said: "When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, commanded us to stone Ma'iz ibn Malik, we took him out to al-Baqi'. By Allah, we did not dig for him, nor did we bind him. Rather, he stood for us, and we pelted him with bones and pottery. He felt the pain, so he ran out, hastening, until he stood upright before us in the middle of the rocky ground (al-Harrah). Then we pelted him with large stones until he became silent."
