I read to Abd al-Rahman: Malik said, my father said: And Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us, from Rabi'ah ibn Abi Abd al-Rahman, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from Ibn Muhayriz, that he said: I entered the mosque and saw Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, so I sat with him and asked him about *al-'azl* (coitus interruptus). Abu Sa'id said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, on the expedition of Banu al-Mustaliq. We captured captives from among the Arab captives, and we desired women, and celibacy became difficult for us, and we loved ransom, and we wanted to practice *al-'azl*. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was among us, so we asked him about that before we did it. We asked him about that, and he said: "It does not matter if you do not do it. There is no soul that is to be until the Day of Resurrection, but it will be."
