Musnad Ahmad 31:71

Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Ibn al-Had, from Yuhannis, the freed slave of Mus'ab ibn al-Zubayr, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: While we were traveling with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, at al-'Arj, a poet appeared reciting poetry. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Seize the devil—or hold the devil—for a man to have his interior filled with pus is better for him than to have it filled with poetry."
