'Affan narrated to us, Yazid bin Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id bin Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, regarding this verse: "And We shall remove from their breasts any sense of rancor" [Al-A'raf: 43], he said: Qatadah narrated to us, that Abu al-Mutawakkil al-Naji narrated to them, that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri narrated to them, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The believers will be saved from the Fire, and they will be detained upon a bridge between Paradise and the Fire. Then, retribution will be taken for some of them from others for the injustices that existed between them in the world. Until, when they have been refined and purified, they will be granted permission to enter Paradise." He said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, one of them will be more guided to his dwelling in Paradise than he was to his dwelling that he had in the world." Qatadah said: "And some of them said: It is not likened for them except to the people of Jumu'ah (Friday prayer), when they depart from their Jumu'ah."
