Hadith 31:740
Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: 'Asim ibn 'Umar ibn Qatadah al-Ansari, then al-Zafari, narrated to me, from Mahmud ibn Labid, one of the Banu 'Abd al-Ashhal, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Gog and Magog will be released, and they will emerge upon the people, just as Allah the Almighty said: {And they, from every elevation, will descend} [Al-Anbiya: 96]. They will cover the earth, and the Muslims will withdraw from them to their cities and their fortresses, and they will gather their livestock with them. They will drink the waters of the earth, to the extent that some of them will pass by a river and drink what is in it, until they leave it dry. Then, those who come after them will pass by that river and say: 'There was water here once.' Until, when no one remains of the people except those in a fortress or a city, one of them will say: 'These are the people of the earth, we have finished with them; there remain the people of the heaven.' Then one of them will shake his spear and throw it toward the heaven, and it will return to him stained with blood, as a trial and a tribulation. While they are in that state, Allah will send worms in their necks, like the larvae of locusts that emerge in their necks, and they will wake up dead, with no sound heard from them. The Muslims will say: 'Is there not a man who will sell his soul for us and see what this enemy has done?' A man among them will volunteer for that, seeking reward for his soul, thinking that he will be killed. He will descend and find them dead, one upon another. He will call out: 'O assembly of Muslims, rejoice! For Allah has sufficed you against your enemy.' They will emerge from their cities and their fortresses, and they will let their livestock out to graze, and they will have no fodder other than their flesh, and they will grow fat from it, as well as they have ever grown from any vegetation they have ever encountered."
حدثنا يعقوب، حدثنا أبي، عن محمد بن إسحاق، قال: حدثني عاصم بن عمر بن قتادة الأنصاري ثم الظفري، عن محمود بن لبيد، أحد بني عبد الأشهل، عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " يفتح يأجوج ومأجوج، يخرجون على الناس، كما قال الله عز وجل: {من كل حدب ينسلون} [الأنبياء: 96] ، فيغشون الأرض، وينحاز المسلمون عنهم إلى مدائنهم وحصونهم، ويضمون إليهم مواشيهم، ويشربون مياه الأرض، حتى إن بعضهم ليمر بالنهر فيشربون ما فيه، حتى يتركوه يبسا، حتى إن من بعدهم ليمر بذلك النهر فيقول: قد كان هاهنا ماء مرة، حتى إذا لم يبق من الناس إلا أحد في حصن أو مدينة قال قائلهم: هؤلاء أهل الأرض، قد فرغنا منهم، بقي أهل السماء "، قال: " ثم يهز أحدهم حربته ثم يرمي بها إلى السماء، فترجع إليه مختضبة دما، للبلاء والفتنة، فبينا هم على ذلك، بعث الله دودا في أعناقهم، كنغف الجراد الذي يخرج في أعناقهم، فيصبحون موتى لا يسمع لهم حسا ، فيقول المسلمون: ألا رجل يشري لنا نفسه فينظر ما فعل هذا العدو ". قال: " فيتجرد رجل منهم لذلك محتسبا لنفسه قد أظنها على أنه مقتول، فينزل ، فيجدهم موتى بعضهم على بعض، فينادي: يا معشر المسلمين، ألا أبشروا، فإن الله قد كفاكم عدوكم. فيخرجون من مدائنهم، وحصونهم، ويسرحون مواشيهم، فما يكون لها رعي إلا لحومهم، فتشكر عنه كأحسن ما تشكر عن شيء من النبات أصابته قط "
