Musnad Ahmad 31:800

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Abu Bakr narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Sa’id, who said: The wife of Safwan ibn Mu’attal came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "Safwan makes me break my fast when I fast, and he beats me when I pray, and he does not pray the morning prayer until the sun rises." He said: So he sent for him, and he said: "What does she say?" He said: "As for her saying that I make her break her fast, I am a young man and I have forbidden her to fast." He said: So on that day, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade a woman from fasting except with the permission of her husband. He said: "And as for her saying that I beat her for praying, she recites two surahs, and that hinders me." He said: "If the people were to recite them, it would not harm you." "And as for her saying that I do not pray until the sun rises, I am heavy-headed, and I am from a household known for that, for the heaviness of the head." He said: "Then when you wake up, pray."
