Hadith 31:862
Safwan ibn Isa narrated to us, Anis ibn Abi Yahya narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out to us during his illness in which he died, while his head was bandaged. He said: So I followed him until he ascended the pulpit. He said: Then he said, "I am, at this moment, standing at the Basin (al-Hawd)." He said: Then he said, "Indeed, a servant was offered the world and its adornments, but he chose the Hereafter." No one among the people understood it except Abu Bakr. He said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you; rather, we sacrifice our wealth, our souls, and our children for you." He said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) descended from the pulpit, and he was not seen upon it until this hour.
