Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, Salim—meaning Ibn Abi Hafsah—and al-A’mash, and ‘Abdullah ibn Sahban, and Kathir al-Nawa, and Ibn Abi Layla narrated to us, from ‘Atiyyah al-‘Awfi, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Indeed, the people of the high ranks are seen by those below them, just as you see the rising star in one of the horizons of the sky. Behold, and indeed Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are among them, and they have been favored."
