Waki’ narrated to us, Mis’ar narrated to us, from Zayd al-‘Ammi, from Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri: "A man was brought to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for a prescribed punishment (hadd)." He said: "So he struck him with two sandals forty times." Mis’ar said: "I think it was for drinking (intoxicants)."
