Musnad Ahmad 7:14

Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman—meaning Ibn Abi al-Zinad—informed us, from Hisham, from Urwah, who said: My father, al-Zubayr, informed me: That when it was the day of Uhud, a woman came running until she was about to overlook the slain. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, disliked that she should see them, so he said: "The woman, the woman." Al-Zubayr said: I suspected that it was my mother, Safiyyah. I went out running toward her and caught up with her before she reached the slain. She struck me in my chest—and she was a strong woman—and said: "Get away, may you have no land!" I said: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has commanded you [to stop]." She stopped and brought out two garments she had with her and said: "These are two garments I brought for my brother Hamzah, for the news of his killing has reached me, so shroud him in them." We brought the two garments to shroud Hamzah in them, but beside him was a slain man from the Ansar who had been treated just as Hamzah had been treated. We felt awkward and shy to shroud Hamzah in two garments while the Ansari had no shroud. We said: "One garment for Hamzah and one garment for the Ansari." We measured them and one was larger than the other, so we drew lots between them and shrouded each one of them in the garment that fell to him.
