Musnad Ahmad 7:15

Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, who said: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me that al-Zubayr used to narrate that he disputed with a man from the Ansar, who had witnessed Badr, before the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding the channels of al-Harrah, which they both used for irrigation. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to al-Zubayr: "Irrigate, then send the water to your neighbor." The Ansari became angry and said: "O Messenger of Allah, is it because he is the son of your paternal aunt?" The face of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, changed color. Then he said to al-Zubayr: "Irrigate, then hold the water until it reaches the walls." At that point, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, secured for al-Zubayr his full right. Before that, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had suggested an opinion to al-Zubayr, intending by it ease for both him and the Ansari. But when the Ansari angered the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, secured for al-Zubayr his full right according to the explicit ruling. 'Urwah said: Al-Zubayr said: "By Allah, I do not think this verse was revealed except regarding that: 'But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.'" [An-Nisa: 65]
