Musnad Ahmad 5:157

Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Abdullah informed us, al-Hajjaj ibn Artah informed us, from Ata al-Khurasani, that he narrated to him from the freed slave of his wife, from Ali ibn Abi Talib, who said: "When the day of Friday arrives, the devils go out, distracting people toward their marketplaces, and with them are banners. The angels sit at the doors of the mosques, recording the people according to their ranks: the one who arrives first, the one who prays, and the one who follows him, until the Imam comes out. Whoever draws near to the Imam, remains silent, listens, and does not engage in idle talk, he shall have two portions of reward. Whoever remains far from him, listens, remains silent, and does not engage in idle talk, he shall have one portion of reward. Whoever draws near to the Imam, engages in idle talk, does not remain silent, and does not listen, he shall have two portions of sin. Whoever remains far from him, engages in idle talk, does not remain silent, and does not listen, he shall have one portion of sin. Whoever says 'shh' has spoken, and whoever speaks, there is no Friday [prayer reward] for him." Then he said: "Thus I heard your Prophet."
