Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Dawud al-Mubaraki Sulayman ibn Muhammad, the neighbor of Khalaf al-Bazzar, narrated to us, Abu Shihab narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Abd al-Karim, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Nawfal, from Ibn Abbas, from Ali, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade me from a gold ring, from wearing red, and from reciting [the Quran] while bowing and prostrating."
