Musnad Ahmad 5:274

'Abdullah narrated to us, Mansur ibn Abi Muzahim narrated to us, Khalid al-Zayyat narrated to us, 'Awn ibn Abi Juhayfah narrated to me, he said: My father was among the guards of 'Ali, and he was beneath the pulpit. My father narrated to me: That he [i.e., 'Ali] ascended the pulpit, praised Allah the Exalted and extolled Him, and invoked blessings upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: "The best of this nation after its Prophet is Abu Bakr, and the second is 'Umar." And he said: "Allah the Exalted places goodness wherever He wills."
