Musnad Ahmad 5:3

Abdullah narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Abdah al-Basri narrated to me, al-Mughirah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith al-Makhzumi narrated to me, my father Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith narrated to me, from Zayd ibn Ali ibn Husayn ibn Ali, from his father Ali ibn Husayn, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Rafi’, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood at Arafah while Usamah ibn Zayd was riding behind him, and he said: "This is the standing place, and all of Arafah is a standing place." Then he departed, moving at a gentle pace, while the people were striking to the right and left. He turned around and said: "Tranquility, O people! Tranquility, O people!" until he came to Muzdalifah. He combined the two prayers, then stood at Muzdalifah, and he stood at Quzah, and he had al-Fadl ibn Abbas ride behind him, and he said: "This is the standing place, and all of Muzdalifah is a standing place." Then he departed and began to move at a gentle pace, while the people were striking to the right and left. He turned around and said: "Tranquility, tranquility, O people!" until he came to Muhassir. He spurred his mount, and it trotted until he exited it. Then he returned to his previous pace until he threw the pebbles at the Jamrah. Then he came to the place of sacrifice and said: "This is the place of sacrifice, and all of Mina is a place of sacrifice." Then a young woman from Khath’am came to him and said: "My father is a very old man, and he has become senile, and the obligation of Allah regarding Hajj has reached him, but he cannot perform it. Will it suffice if I perform it on his behalf?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes." And he began to turn the face of al-Fadl ibn Abbas away from her. Then a man came to him and said: "I threw the pebbles at the Jamrah, performed the circumambulation (Ifadah), and put on my clothes, but I did not shave." He said: "There is no harm, so shave." Then another man came to him and said: "I threw the pebbles, shaved, and put on my clothes, but I did not sacrifice." He said: "There is no harm, so sacrifice." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed the circumambulation (Ifadah), then called for a bucket of Zamzam water. He drank from it and performed ablution, then said: "Draw water, O sons of Abd al-Muttalib; were it not that you would be overcome regarding it, I would have drawn it." Al-Abbas said: "O Messenger of Allah, I saw you turning the face of your nephew away?" He said: "I saw a young man and a young woman, and I feared the devil for them both."
