Musnad Ahmad 5:318

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Al-Hakam informed me, from Abu Muhammad, from Ali, who said: "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent him to Medina and commanded him to level the graves."
