Musnad Ahmad 5:380

'Abdullah narrated to us, 'Ali bin Hakim, Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah, and Isma'il ibn bint al-Suddi narrated to me, they said: Sharik narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik bin 'Umayr, from Nafi' bin Jubayr bin Mut'im, from 'Ali bin Abi Talib, that he described the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "He was of large head, white, tinged with redness, of large beard, of thick joints, of rough palms and feet, of long hair-line (from chest to navel), of abundant hair on his head and legs. He would lean forward in his walk as if he were descending a slope. He was neither tall nor short. I have not seen the likes of him before him nor after him, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him." 'Ali bin Hakim said in his narration: 'Ali bin Abi Talib described the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to us and said: "He was of large head, of beautiful hair on his head and legs."
