Hadith 5:382
'Abdullah narrated to us, Surayj ibn Yunus narrated to me, Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Umawi narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Salih ibn Sa'id—or Sa'id—from Nafi' ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from 'Ali, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was neither short nor tall. He had a large head and feet, and a thick beard. His complexion was tinged with redness. He had a long *masrabah* (a thin line of hair running from the chest to the navel). He had large joints, and his palms and feet were thick and coarse. When he walked, he would lean forward as if he were descending a slope. I have not seen anyone like him before him or after him, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him."
