Musnad Ahmad 5:407

Abdullah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Abu Hayyah ibn Qays, from Ali: That he performed ablution (wudu) three times [for each part], and he drank the remainder of his ablution water. Then he said: "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, do."
