Musnad Ahmad 5:457

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, and Shu'bah, and Hammad ibn Salamah, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Hujayyah ibn 'Adi, that a man asked 'Ali about the cow. He said: "On behalf of seven." The man said: "And the horn?" He said: "It does not harm you." The man said: "And the lame one?" He said: "If it reaches the place of sacrifice." He said: "And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, commanded us to examine the eye and the ear."
