Musnad Ahmad 5:459

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Abu Ishaq, from Harithah ibn Mudarrib, from 'Ali, who said: "There was no horseman among us on the day of Badr except for al-Miqdad." "And I have seen us, and there was no one among us but that he was asleep, except for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, under a tree, praying and weeping until morning."
