Musnad Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA)

Hadith 5:484

'Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, he said: Sa'id was asked about the *a'ḍab* (the one with a slit or broken ear/horn): Is it to be sacrificed? He informed us from Qatadah, from Jurayy ibn Kulayb, a man from his people, that he heard 'Ali saying: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade sacrificing an animal with a slit horn or ear." Qatadah said: I mentioned that to Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, and he said: "The *'aḍb* is half or more than that."
