Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to me, Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Hubayrah, from Ali, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the gold ring, the *maytharah* (a red saddle cloth or cushion), the *qassi* (a type of garment containing silk), and *al-ji'ah* (a fermented beverage)."
