Musnad Ahmad 5:54

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, who said: Ali addressed us and said: "Whoever claims that we have anything to read other than the Book of Allah and this scroll—a scroll containing the ages of camels and things regarding injuries—has lied." He said: And in it [the scroll] is: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Al-Madinah is a sanctuary from 'Ayr to Thawr. Whoever commits an innovation in it, or shelters an innovator, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind. Allah will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection any obligatory or supererogatory deed. Whoever claims to be the son of someone other than his father, or allies himself with someone other than his own masters, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind. Allah will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection any supererogatory or obligatory deed. The protection of the Muslims is one; the lowest of them may strive to uphold it."
