Hadith 5:556
Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, from al-Sha‘bi, who said: "Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, cursed the consumer of usury, the one who pays it, its scribe, and its witness; and the one who tattoos and the one who asks to be tattooed." Ibn ‘Awn said: I said: "Except for a disease?" He said: "Yes." [He also cursed] "the one who marries a woman to make her lawful for her former husband (al-muhallil) and the one for whom she is made lawful (al-muhallal lahu), and the one who withholds charity." And he said: "And he used to forbid wailing," and he did not say "cursed." I said: "Who narrated this to you?" He said: "Al-Harith al-A‘war al-Hamdani."
