Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard Harithah ibn Mudarrib narrating from ‘Ali, who said: "We saw ourselves on the night of Badr, and there was not a person among us but was asleep, except for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for he was praying toward a tree and supplicating until morning." And there was no horseman among us on the day of Badr except for al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad.
