Hadith 5:615

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, from Sa'd ibn 'Ubaydah, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, from 'Ali, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): That he was at a funeral, and he took a stick and began poking the ground with it. He said: "There is not one among you except that his seat in the Fire or in Paradise has been written." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall we not then rely [upon this]?" Shu'bah said: Mansur ibn al-Mu'tamir narrated it to me, and I did not find anything in the hadith of Sulayman to be denied.
