Musnad Ahmad 5:619

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Sha'bi: That Shurahah al-Hamdaniyyah came to Ali and said, "I have committed adultery." He said, "Perhaps you were jealous, perhaps you saw it in your sleep, perhaps you were coerced." To all of which she said, "No." So he flogged her on Thursday and stoned her on Friday, and he said, "I flogged her according to the Book of Allah, and I stoned her according to the Sunnah of the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
