Musnad Ahmad 5:678

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from 'Amr ibn Qays, from al-Hakam, from al-Qasim ibn Mukhaymirah, from Shurayh ibn Hani', who said: I came to 'A'ishah to ask her about the leather socks (khuffayn). She said: "You must go to the son of Abu Talib and ask him, for he used to travel with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." So I came to him and asked him. He said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, appointed three days and their nights for the traveler, and one day and one night for the resident."
