Musnad Ahmad 5:757

Mu'adh narrated to us, Sufyan al-Thawri narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim, from Mujahid, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded me [to do] the like of this," except that he did not say: "We give it from our own [possessions]."
