Musnad Ahmad 5:78

Yahya narrated to us, from Shu'bah, 'Amr ibn Murrah narrated to me, from 'Abdullah ibn Salamah, who said: I came to 'Ali, along with two other men, and he said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would relieve himself, then come out and recite the Qur'an, and eat meat with us. Nothing would prevent him—and he sometimes said: 'hinder him'—from the Qur'an except for Janabah (major ritual impurity)."
