Abu Sa’id narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, Husayn ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from al-Sha’bi, from al-Harith, from ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the consumer of usury, the one who pays it, its two witnesses, and its scribe; the one who makes marriage lawful for another (al-muhallil) and the one for whom it is made lawful (al-muhallal lahu); the woman who tattoos and the woman who asks to be tattooed; and the one who withholds charity. And he forbade wailing."
