Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Surayj ibn Yunus Abu al-Harith narrated to me, Abu Hafs al-Abbar narrated to us, from al-Hakam ibn Abd al-Malik, from al-Harith ibn Hasirah, from Abu Sadiq, from Rabi’ah ibn Najidh, from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me: "In you is a likeness of Jesus; the Jews hated him until they slandered his mother, and the Christians loved him until they placed him in a position that is not his." Then he said: "Two types of men will perish regarding me: an excessive lover who praises me with what is not in me, and a hater whose hatred for me carries him to slander me."
