Musnad Ahmad 32:1050

Bahz narrated to us, and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammam narrated to us. 'Affan said: He narrated to us, and Bahz said: Qatadah informed us, from Anas, that a man from the people of the desert came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "When is the Hour?" He said: "Woe to you, and what have you prepared for the Hour?" He said: "I have not prepared anything for it, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Then you are with whom you love." He said: His companions said: "Are we the same?" He said: "Yes, and you are the same." He said: So they rejoiced on that day with great joy. He said: Then a young boy of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah passed by. Anas said: And he was of my age. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "If this one is delayed, he will not reach old age until the Hour is established." And 'Affan said: So we rejoiced at that on that day with great joy.
