Bahz and ‘Affan narrated to us, they said: Sulayman narrated to us, and Hashim narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us. ‘Affan said: Thabit narrated to us, Anas narrated, he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "A son was born to me tonight, so I named him with the name of my father, Ibrahim." He said: Then he entrusted him to Umm Sayf—the wife of a blacksmith who was called Abu Sayf—in Medina. He said: So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set out to go to him, and I set out with him. He arrived at Abu Sayf, who was blowing his bellows, and the house had become filled with smoke. He said: So I quickened my pace in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and I said: "O Abu Sayf, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come." He said: So he stopped. He said: Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came and asked for the boy and embraced him to himself. Anas said: I saw him in the hands of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while he was struggling in his death throes. He said: Then the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) shed tears. He said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The eye sheds tears, and the heart grieves, and we do not say except what pleases our Lord. And by Allah, O Ibrahim, we are indeed saddened by your departure."
