Musnad Ahmad 32:112

Ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: Umm Sulaym sent me with a basket containing fresh dates to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. I did not find him, as he had gone out nearby to a freedman of his who had invited him and prepared food for him. He said: So I came to him, and he was eating, and he invited me to eat with him. He said: And he had prepared for him *tharid* (bread soaked in broth) with meat and gourd. He said: And he used to like the gourd. He said: So I began to gather it and bring it near to him. He said: When he finished eating, he returned to his house. He said: And I placed the basket before him. He said: So he began to eat and distribute [the dates] until he finished the last of them.
