Musnad Ahmad 32:1141

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Hammad informed us, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gave from the spoils of Hunayn one hundred camels to al-Aqra’ ibn Habis, and one hundred camels to ‘Uyaynah ibn Hisn. Some people of the Ansar said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gives our spoils to people whose swords are dripping with our blood," or "our swords are dripping with their blood." This reached him, so he sent for the Ansar and said: "Is there anyone among you who is not of you?" They said: "No, except a son of a sister of ours." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The son of a sister of a people is one of them. You said such and such. Are you not pleased that the people go away with the worldly life, while you go away with Muhammad to your homes?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if the people took a valley or a mountain pass, I would take the valley of the Ansar or their mountain pass. The Ansar are my inner garment and my trusted confidants. And were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man from the Ansar."
