Hadith 32:1266
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, he said: Abu al-Tayyah narrated to us, Anas narrated, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was the best of people in character. I had a brother who was called Abu 'Umayr. He said: I think he said: "a weaned child." He said: And when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would come and see him, he would say: "Abu 'Umayr, what did the *nughayr* (small bird) do?" He said: It was a *nughayr* he used to play with. He said: Sometimes the prayer time would arrive while he was in our house, so he would order the mat that was beneath him to be swept, then it would be sprinkled with water, then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would stand and we would stand behind him, and he would lead us in prayer. He said: And their mat was made of palm fronds.
