Musnad Ahmad 32:1267

'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: I brought 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Talha to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when he was born. He was smearing ointment on a camel of his, and he was wearing a cloak. He said, "Do you have dates with you?" I handed him some dates, and he put them in his mouth and chewed them. Then he opened the child's mouth and put them into it. The child began to smack his lips. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The love of the Ansar is dates," and he named him 'Abd Allah.
