Musnad Ahmad 32:1339

Ja'far ibn 'Awn narrated to us, he said: Mis'ar informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said: He—meaning the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—said: "Do not practice continuous fasting (wisal)." They said: "But you practice continuous fasting." He said: "I am not like one of you; I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."
