Abu Ja'far al-Mada'ini—who is Muhammad ibn Ja'far—narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, before the Dajjal, there are years of deception, in which the truthful one is belied, the liar is believed, the trustworthy one is betrayed, the treacherous one is trusted, and the Ruwaybidah speaks." It was said: "And what is the Ruwaybidah?" He said: "The corrupt little man who speaks regarding the public affair." *** 'Uthman ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us—Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: And I heard it from 'Uthman—he said: 'Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to me, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Indeed, before the Hour, there are years..." and he mentioned the hadith.
