Hadith 32:1374

Hashim narrated to us, Sulayman narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: I was running among the boys, and they would say, "Muhammad has come," so I would run, but I would see nothing. Then they would say, "Muhammad has come," and I would run, but I would see nothing. He said: Until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came, along with his companion Abu Bakr, and they hid in one of the rocky tracts of Medina. Then they sent a man from the people of the desert to inform the Ansar of their arrival. About five hundred of the Ansar went out to meet them until they reached them. The Ansar said, "Proceed, you are safe and obeyed." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companion approached among them. The people of Medina came out, to the extent that the young women were on top of the houses looking at them, saying, "Which one is he? Which one is he?" He said: We never saw a sight similar to that day. Anas ibn Malik said: "I saw him the day he entered upon us, and the day he passed away, and I have never seen two days similar to them."
