Kuthayyir ibn Hisham narrated to us, Ja'far narrated to us, 'Imran al-Basri al-Qasir narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: I served the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for ten years. He did not command me with a matter and I was negligent regarding it, or wasted it, such that he blamed me. If anyone from his household blamed me, he would say: "Leave him, for if it had been decreed—or he said: if it had been ordained—to be, it would have been."
