Musnad Ahmad 32:1543

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Yahya ibn al-Harith al-Jabir narrated to me, from 'Abd al-Warith, the freed slave of Anas ibn Malik, and 'Amr ibn 'Amir, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the visiting of graves, and the meat of the sacrificial animals after three [days], and [drinking] nabidh (fermented drink) in the gourd, the hollowed-out log, the green glazed jar, and the pitch-coated vessel." He said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said after that: "Verily, I had forbidden you from three things, then it appeared to me regarding them: I forbade you from visiting graves, then it appeared to me that it softens the heart, brings tears to the eye, and reminds one of the Hereafter, so visit them and do not speak falsehood. And I forbade you from the meat of the sacrificial animals to eat it beyond three nights, then it appeared to me that people entertain their guests and store for their absent ones, so keep [of it] as you wish. And I forbade you from nabidh in these vessels, so drink from whatever you wish, but do not drink anything intoxicating. Whoever wishes, let him tie his waterskin upon sin."
